Two men were life-flighted Jan. 23 to Atlanta hospitals with head injuries after they were involved in a collision on Ga. Highway 36 just east of Campbell Road.

According to Sgt. Fred Moon with the Georgia State Patrol, around 9:20 p.m., a beige Ford F-150 pulled out from a private driveway into traffic, causing a green Ford F-150 truck, which was traveling east on Ga. Highway 36, to smash into the driver’s side door. The beige truck exited the roadway and came to rest on the north shoulder, while the green truck came to rest in the middle of the roadway.

Both drivers sustained head injuries. The driver of the green truck was trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life device.

The driver of the beige truck was life-flighted to Grady Hospital and the driver of the green truck was life-flighted to Atlanta Medical Center, both in Atlanta.

Both cars were totaled.
