A fight over a buggy at the Dollar Tree led to an arrest Friday evening.
A woman called police for help, saying that while she was shopping a woman approached her while she was looking at coffee mugs and began yelling, asking if she had taken her buggy. The woman, later identified as Cynthia Denise Smiley, continued to accuse her of stealing her buggy.
When the victim turned to walk away, Smiley allegedly began cussing at her, leaned down to her ear and continued yelling about the buggy. When she addressed Smiley, telling her she didn't know what she was talking about, she said Smiley slapped her across the face, knocking her to the ground. When the victim tried to get up Smiley allegedly pushed her back down, breaking her glasses.
Witnesses all fingered Smiley as the primary aggressor in the fight, according to reports. They told officers that Smiley approached the victim after one of her young children pointed at the woman and said she was the one who took Smiley's buggy.
Smiley reportedly told officers she was the primary aggressor in the fight, saying "she pushed the victim and after that she did not know what happened, other than [the victim] hit her in the head."
Smiley was charged with simple battery, disorderly conduct and cruelty to children.
