DECATUR - State juvenile justice officials say a SWAT team was called in to put down a disturbance at the DeKalb Regional Youth Detention Center.
Scheree Moore, spokeswoman for the state Department of Juvenile Justice, said in a statement Thursday that a group disturbance began about 8 p.m. Wednesday in a housing unit at the center in south DeKalb County.
Moore says five staff members and a few inmates received minor injuries during the disturbance, which she says was contained to one unit.
Officials say the county police SWAT team was inside the facility for about 45 minutes.
Moore did not say what started the disturbance.
