COVINGTON, Ga. – Volunteers braved sub-freezing temperatures Monday morning to celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday by taking part in Newton County’s annual cemetery clean-up. The 20 or so men, women and children used chainsaws, weed eaters, rakes and old-fashioned muscle to clear limbs, small trees, weeds and debris at the Henderson Cemetery on Ridge Road Monday morning.
