COVINGTON, Ga. - Deputies with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office responded to separate incidents of early morning gunfire Thursday and Friday.
According to a NCSO incident report, a deputy responded to a burglary call at a home on Salem Road at 4:10 a.m. Thursday morning.
When he got to the scene, the resident told him a group of unknown men tried to force their way into his home early. One of the males reportedly fired a shot at the victim before running out of the residence.
In another incident, deputies responded to a Shiver Boulevard address just before 3 a.m. Friday morning on a report of a discharged firearm. When they arrived at the scene, they found the address had been shot three times. There were no injuries.
