Purse reported stolen from vehicle at Covington restaurant

COVINGTON, Ga. – A Covington woman told police somebody broke into her car and stole a purse Friday afternoon while she was eating at a local restaurant.

According to a Covington Police Department report, the woman said she parked her 2003 GMC Yukon on the west side of the Longhorn Steakhouse at 6112 Pavilion Way Oct. 27 and went inside to eat.

The woman said when she returned to her vehicle, she discovered the driver’s side door area had been tampered with and damaged and a black Guess purse valued at $150 had been taken from the passenger side floor board.

The purse reportedly contained $200 and a Notary Kit.
