Nine arrested in ongoing NCSO investigation

Nine people have been arrested so far in an ongoing investigation by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) of the Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO).

According to NCSO spokesperson Sgt. Cortney Morrison, five men were arrested Feb 27 when members of the SIU executed search warrants at 10221 Waterford Road and 10206 Waterford Rd.

Andrew Tyrone Fuller, Anderrious Jyquez Belcher, Joseph Columbus Barr, William Charles Glover and Anthony Jarvis Flournoy were arrested during the warrant raids.

Earlier in February, NCSO arrested Tio Quintarus Gaither, Theron Gerard Smith, and Elijah Louis Smith in connection with the same investigation. Duane Bernard Maddox, was arrested March 1 in connection with the investigation.

All of those arrested face multiple charges, though they don’t face the same charges.

According to the NCSO spokesperson, multiple pounds of marijuana were recovered during the search. Cocaine and firearms were also recovered.
