COVINGTON, Ga. — Police arrested a wanted Conyers man after a brief chase on the road and through the woods.

Dana Dwayne Strange, 38, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the area of Turner Lake Road.

Covington police public information officer Justin Stott said the Georgia State Patrol tried to stop Strange because he was driving a motorcycle without a tag. Strange allegedly fled the trooper and wrecked his bike on Turner Lake Road near a gas station.

Strange was injured but ran into woods near Old Brown Bridge Road, Stott said.

Troopers called in Covington police to assist in finding Strange. Officers established a perimeter and called in a K-9, and Strange was found after about 40 minutes.

Stott said the motorcycle was stolen, and Strange faced a warrant for violating his probation.
