COVINGTON, Ga. – A Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) deputy arrested a man for his 10th DUI offense Sunday evening after responding to a report of an overdue motorist.
According to the NCSO incident report, Joel Wimpey, 57, was arrested and charged July 23 after arriving at a Cowan Road address while the deputy was speaking with the complainant. A NCSO spokesperson said Wimpey was put through a series of tests after the deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol.
According to the report, Wimpey was also cited for driving while license suspended/revoked and open container.
