CPD searching for suspect related to Krystal burglary

COVINGTON, Ga. — Investigators at the Covington Police Department are looking for the suspect related to the Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, burglary at Krystal, located on Highway 278 Northeast in Covington.

In the early morning on Oct. 29, a masked suspect threw an object and shattered the drive-thru window of the business, according to CPD Criminal Intelligence Officer and Public Information Officer Justin Stott. The suspect went for the safe inside the business after entry.

"After a short amount of time, the suspect leaves out the back of the store then came back to open the safe," he said. "The suspect then leaves the business with an undisclosed amount of money."

The manager of Krystal told the CPD that she did not know who could have caused the damages "for no one had been recently terminated from work," according to the incident report. She confirmed none of the cash registers or drawers had been tampered with at the time of the crime scene investigation.
