COVINGTON, Ga. — Covington Police were asking the public to be on the lookout for a person wanted for questioning in the Saturday night shooting of a 14-year-old girl at a party on Oakwood Circle.
The victim, who was not identified by police, was shot around 11:50 p.m.
Police released the name of a person wanted for questioning, Treyvious Stodghill, aka “61thuggg,” who is known to stay in the area of Petty Street and Plum Orchard, police said in a posting on the department's Facebook page.
He was last seen wearing a black bubble jacket, red ski mask and a "gold grill."
"CPD is attempting to locate additional suspects that were seen leaving in a Black Honda," the posting stated.
A report stated officers responded to a call about a person shot in the area of Green Acres Drive and Petty Street at 11:52 p.m.
They later found out the incident occurred at the Oakwood Circle location and found the victim at the rear of the residence with a gunshot wound to the upper thigh and "several younger subjects" assisting her.
"I then began to render aid in an attempt to control the bleeding and provide a patient update for medical units," the officer stated.
Emergency medical workers soon arrived, placed the victim on a stretcher and moved her into an ambulance. She was transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, investigators said.
Officers found several bullet casings and some clothing items, including a pair of Nike Air Force 1 shoes and a yellow, flat bill or "snapback" L.A. Lakers cap, and placed them into evidence.
They also transported two juveniles to the police department for questioning after they were identified as witnesses, the report stated.
