COVINGTON, Ga. – Investigators with the Covington Police Department (CPD) are looking for the two people who robbed the Dollar General on Highway 278 at gunpoint Monday night.

According to the CPD incident report, two males entered the store at 9:58 p.m. July 10 armed with handguns and approached a female employee as she was walking toward the back of the store where another employee was located.

According to the report, while one suspect was walking both employees back to the front of the store, the other suspect ran out the front door of the store and turned left.

When one of the employees had trouble opening the cash register, the remaining suspect reportedly yelled at her, “Hurry up or I will shoot you in the head.”

That suspect then left the store with an undisclosed amount of money in the same direction as the first suspect.

One suspect was described as a black male, possibly 5 feet 7 inches wearing a black hoodie, red bandana, and black shoes. The other is described as a black male, possibly 5 feet 9 inches wearing a black hoodie, blue bandana, sweat pants with a white stripe on the side of them and black and white tennis shoes. According to the report, both appeared to be slim built, in their late teens and were wearing sunglasses.
