COVINGTON, Ga. — Four people stole money and cigarettes in a middle-of-the-night burglary at a Newton County gas station.

It happened May 25 at the Valero at 11260 Brown Bridge Road. That’s in unincorporated Covington, near Porterdale, at the intersection of Brown Bridge and Crowell roads.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office said four people entered the gas station between 3:10 and 3:13 a.m. after arriving in a dark vehicle.

The suspects were completely covered, including in their faces and hands. They allegedly pried open an ATM and also took an unknown amount of cigarette cartons.
