COVINGTON, Ga. – Eastside High School is under what is being called a “preventative lockdown” by school system officials while authorities investigate an emailed threat to the school.

A spokesman with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office told The Covington News the lockdown is the result of a bomb threat and that deputies and K-9s are currently on scene searching the school.
