A single-vehicle crash killed a 20-year-old Covington man and sent two others to the hospital.

Early Sunday morning, around 1:23 a.m., a blue Chrysler Sebring was traveling west on Sigman Road near Gees Mill Road, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The vehicle, which had a driver and two passengers, left the road on the north shoulder of Sigman Road, striking a street sign and then a large utility pole before overturning onto its left side.

One passenger, 20-year-old Santez Fortson of Covington, died at the scene.

The other passenger, Antonio Johnson, 18, of Lithonia, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The driver was Keshaun Cobb, 18, of Covington. He was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center.

According to GSP, neither the driver nor a passenger was the owner of the vehicle. The accident is still being investigated by GSP’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction unit.
