The Covington City Council unanimously passed a curfew ordinance at its meeting Monday night.

It was the second reading of the ordinance after the first was voted in favor, 5-1, at the council’s Nov. 17 meeting.

The ordinance will make it unlawful for juveniles, 16 and under, to be out and unsupervised after 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and after 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

When the ordinance was first discussed, in a work session before the Nov. 22 public meeting, it was met with split approval among the six council members. The vote shifted to 5-1 for the first reading of the ordinance, and was unanimously passed Monday night.
