The Porterdale Memorial Library hosted a fun event for children and adults alike on Tuesday. Covington native Andy Irwin told stories from his childhood and performed comedic songs for his audience.
"We always like to have Andy come out and perform for the kids because he's just fantastic," coordinators for the event said.
Irwin began by telling stories about his childhood including when he brought home tadpoles from a local creek, which seemed to be a crowd favorite.
"I always have been a show-off thinking that I can do anything," Irwin said. "I just like working with kids and adults who were once kids themselves."
Irwin went on to perform at the Covington and Newborn libraries Wednesday.
"He's just great with the kids," coordinators said. "We always enjoy when he can come out and perform."
