A local church is hoping for a different kind of confession after it was burglarized and no arrests.

The Church of Covington youth building was broken into at some point between the evening of Sept. 3 and Sept. 7, with multiple items gone missing including musical equipment and a large flat screen TV, police reports said.

Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) Deputy Brandon Ramsey responded to the church on Sept. 7 and was able to see the back window of the youth center had been broken and someone had entered the building, according to the report.

The side door was found unlocked. The complainant stated he thought the burglars entered the building from the back window and “loaded up all the items taken out the side door.”

Series numbers on multiple items were available but the complainant said he would have to locate them and have them added to the report. According to the report, $1,795 in money and items were stolen.
