Friends of the Library asked The Newton County Board of Commissioners to take action with the problems concerning the Newton County Library at their board meeting on Tuesday night.

Kim Degonia spoke on behalf of the group. Degonia talked about problems at the library and asked commissioners to form a subcommittee to figure out ways to help solve some of those problems. The board appointed two of their commissioners to serve on the subcommittee. There was no decision made on whether or not to give any additional money to the library.

Degonia also attended the city of Covington council meeting on Monday night and asked council for their support on the same issues concerning the library. City council also agreed to appoint some of their council members to serve on the subcommittee.
