Council members in the City of Porterdale held their first reading of the tentative budget for fiscal year 2014 Monday night.

The budget shows that after collecting late fees, service charges and sanitation charges, net income for FY14 is expected to come in at $32,384.

According to City Clerk Megan Reid, a committee has worked to make sure the budget is on track. Reid said this may be "the first year the budget will be passed in the year it was done."
