Old Glory rises again in Oxford

OXFORD, Ga. - Scottie Croy, Oxford employee, used the city’s bucket truck to hang a large American flag on the front of Old Church in Oxford, Georgia on Wednesday, July 3. Croy has been hanging the flag at Old Church for the last 14 years. 

The large flag is placed in the same spot, every year for the last two decades in celebration of the Fourth of July. 

Oxford’s annual Fourth parade will kick off at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 4 at the corner of Haygood Avenue and Stone Street. The parade will end on West Clark Street at Old Church where people can enjoy refreshments, food and live music.
