The 34-year-old victim of this morning's shooting on Appia Way has been identified as Calvin Kentrell Banks of Newton County who died at Newton Medical Center.

Three people were sent to a local hospital after being shot at an incident on Appia Way in the Cedar Creek subdivision off Ga. Highway 36. The incident took place at a home in the subdivision at approximately 9:43 a.m.  There was one young man arrested at the Dollar General on Ga. Highway 36 around the same time but it is unclear if that incident was related to the shooting.
