The square will be completely closed off after 6 p.m. today, as The Vampire Diaries continues filming on the square until 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

Intermittent traffic control will be used until 6 p.m., after which streets approaching the square will be closed one block away from the square and detours will be in place, Covington Assistant Transportation Manager Terry Savage.

The crews will be cleaning up all of their equipment on Saturday; that work should not be nearly as invasive, said Savage.

The "Night of Illumination" festival is going to be included in the show's Halloween episode, said Locations Manager Danny Sconyers.
