Pictures from Miracle Field and Special Olympics Parade

The 2015 Special Olympics Spring Games kicked off in Newton County with the opening ceremonies parade Monday.

The parade brought youth from across Newton County around the Square, with spectators cheering them on.

The athletic events start Tuesday with elementary school athletes participating in track and field events beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Sharp Stadium. The middle and high school athletes take to the track on Wednesday, also beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Closing ceremonies are Friday at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Covington.
