The Rockdale-Newton League of Women Voters will hold their second voter registration drive tomorrow at the Nancy Guinn Library on Green Street in Conyers.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Rockdale County residents will be registered to vote in the upcoming city elections.

Newton County residents are also invited to visit the event. While they will not be able to register on site, they can pick up the paperwork that they will need and can have their questions answered.

The group held a registration drive in Newton County earlier this month. Deputy Register Minister Elizabeth Partidge-Godfrey said the initial drive was a success.

"The voter registration drive was successful because the volunteer league members were able to provide valuable information by educating the voters before election date in November. The fact that we were able to help the general public become more knowledgeable was worth our efforts."

In order to register, you must meet the following criteria: You must be a citizen of the United States, be a legal resident of Newton County, be at least 17 and a half years old to register and 18 to vote, not be serving for conviction of a felony and must not have been found mentally incompetent by a judge.

Allene Eatman, president of the League, can be reached at (678) 413-9520 with any questions or contact Partridge-Godfrey at (678) 625-4728.
