The Covington Kiwanis Club installed new officers and board members for its 2011-2012 year, including new President Royce Baker, a financial adviser Edward Jones.

Last year's president Dennis Carpenter, a deputy superintendent with the school system, passed the gavel to Baker Thursday. Other officers include president-elect and secretary Shannon Sneed, a local lawyer; treasurer Adam Richardson; and assistant secretary Donna Sneed.

The board of directors includes Jerry Aldridge, Kendra Boone, Carpenter, Don Floyd, Bill Loeble, Patsy Mitchell and Nyree Sanders.

Baker said his goals for the upcoming year are to increase membership and to add two events to Kiwanis' calendar, including the creation of a signature Kiwanis event in the community.

The Covington Kiwanis chapter was formed in 1927 and is dedicated to serving local children. For more information, visit covingtonkiwanis.org.
