The portion of Clark Street just east of the roundabout at Turner Lake Road has been closed most of the day for road work but is set to reopen at 4 p.m.
Covington Transportation Manager Bill Skinner said Thursday the city is reclaiming 158 feet of road just east of where the roundabout's new paving ended.
Reclaiming means the asphalt is ground back into the base of the road and then cement is mixed in.
The section of road will be able to be driven on after 4 p.m. A new layer of asphalt will put down on Monday or Tuesday, but the road will be open at that point. Total cost was around $6,500, Skinner said.
The city will also be repaving Ponderosa Drive Monday or Tuesday.
