Benton House hosts beauty pageant

Benton House of Covington Senior Living Community hosted the First Annual Ms Benton House Pageant on Mother’s Day weekend.  “Moby” from 106.1 WNGC Radio (Moby In The Morning) was Master of Ceremonies.  Entertainment was provided by Bobby Don Bloodworth and his Go-Pher Broke Band.  Michelle Tomlin sang a beautiful solo.

Judges for the pageant were Dan Marineau, owner of The Inn Bed And Breakfast, Josephine Brown, Executive Director of Newton County Senior Services, Doug Henry, Henry Funeral Home, Donna Martin, Westbury Nursing and Rehab, and Irene Smith, Newton TV Personality and Published Author.

Contestants were Carolyn Nicholson, Delphie Jones, Lucille Christmas, Polly Forbes, Geina Stanton, Mary Arnold and Reba Crow.  Escorts for contestants were Randall Hardy and Terry Harrison.  All contestants reside at Benton House of Covington.

After much excitement, Polly Forbes was introduced and crowned by Michelle Tomlin as Ms Benton House 2010.  First runner up was Lucille Christmas and second runner up was Geina Stanton.

Benton House residents, visitors and staff enjoyed a beautiful reception following the pageant. There were over 200 visitors in attendance.  

Benton House residents are already looking forward to the Second Annual Ms Benton House Pageant to be held May 2011.
