A 3-year-old child was run over by a family acquaintance in the driveway of his home Friday evening.
Roy Lee Oliver, 22, of Covington, reportedly pulled his 1997 Chevrolet GMT-400 into the driveway of a White Birch Drive home to let his 46-year-old passenger out of the vehicle.
According to Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright, the little boy approached the passenger and began talking to him. Oliver thought the child was with the passenger and began backing out of the driveway, which is when the child was hit.
Based on his injuries, it appeared the little boy was run over by the rear tires of the truck. He was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston for injuries to his abdomen and pelvis.
No charged have been filed.
