Spring concert: The concert by Mariachi Ranchero opened the annual Concerts on the Square series, which will be offered at noon on Thursdays through May. The series is sponsored by the Arts Association in Newton County.
The concerts will be held at the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church in case of rain.

The Alcovy High School Band and the Newton County Honor Band will perform on May 12. The May 19 performance will feature the Shane Millwood Band, and the May 26 performance will feature Lou's Rhythm and Blues band.
