Developer Hubert White has withdrawn rezoning requests for an office at 4118 Herring St. and an adjoining parcel.

He was set to appear before the Covington Planning Commission Tuesday night, which voted to allow White to withdraw his request.

White was seeking a rezoning from light industrial to neighborhood mixed use. The building could then be part of a lease-purchase agreement with Family Resource Center East.

White was requesting that the house he owns next door be rezoned from neighborhood residential to neighborhood mixed use, which would then presumably allow him to move his office to that building.

Some surrounding property owners contended rezoning would encroach on their neighborhood.

White in his letter of withdrawal said he anticipated refilling the request "when economic indicators are more propitious."
