Essex Bank , a community bank serving Gwinnett, Walton, Newton, Rockdale and surrounding counties announced Kevin Mathis as its Vice President of Commercial Lending.

Mr. Mathis began his banking career in 1983 at Farm Credit Banks of Columbia, Columbia, South Carolina in various credit and lending positions throughout South Carolina and Florida. From there he moved to First Union National Bank in Gainesville Florida until his promotion as Vice President and Private Client Group Regional Credit Manager, which brought him to metro Atlanta. He served for several years in Gwinnett County with both Premier Bank/BB& T of Duluth and Gwinnett Banking Company of Lawrenceville.

Mr. Mathis served most recently as Vice President and Commercial Relationship Manager of Fifth Third Bank with branches located throughout the area.
