BREAKING: Mattie’s Call issued for Covington man

COVINGTON, Ga. - A Mattie's Call has been issued for Matthew Cole, 55, according to a release from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office. 

“Matthew Cole, of Covington, was last seen at Rockdale Piedmont Hospital, Conyers, Ga this date around 7 a.m. and before that near Broken Branch Court, Covington, Ga. yesterday around 2 p.m.,” NCSO Sgt. Cortney Morrison said in the release. “He told staff at the hospital that he needed to be seen due to a fall, however, when he left the hospital no one saw who he left with, if anyone.”

According to the release, Cole has dementia and cancer and is believed to be in danger as he needs medicine that he is currently without. Cole also reportedly has trouble walking.

Anyone with contact or information is asked to call 911 immediately. 

“His family is eagerly awaiting his arrival back home,” Morrison said.
