Board of Election Director retires
flowers-and-cards

After nine years at Newton County, Donna Morrison is retiring as Board of Elections Director.

Morrison celebrated her retirement with other county employees and Board of Elections officials at the Newton County Administration Building Wednesday.

“Sometimes you know,” Morrison said of her retirement. “It’s just time to leave.”

Morrison came to Newton County 9 ½ years ago after spending 22 years as the director of the board of elections in Rockdale County.

“It’s been a great ride; it’s been fun and not so fun at times,” Morrison said.

Morrison plans to just enjoy her retirement and spend time with her grandchildren after her last day on the job.

Angela Mantle, Assistant Director of the Board of Elections for Newton County, will take over as Director.
