Southern Heartland Arts' annual "Artful Harvest" event took place Thursday evening with judges awarding first, second and third place awards to a variety of artists and styles of art. Afterwards refreshments were served and people had a chance to mingle and check out the art. The art will be on display in the meeting room of the Newton County Library on Floyd Street through Sept. 29 and is free to view. Many pieces are also available for purchase.
