0103PRAYERBREAKFAST

The 2016 Georgia legislative session is set to begin Jan. 11 with a full slate of decisions to be made by state senators and representatives.

Prior to the beginning of this important time in the Georgia State capitol, the Kiwanis Club of Covington and the Rotary Club of Covington are hosting the annual Legislative Prayer Breakfast, Friday from 7-8:30 a.m. at the Turner Lake Complex, 6185 Turner Lake Road, Covington. There is no charge for the breakfast.

The Prayer Breakfast grew out of an effort by Judges Ken Wynne, Horace Johnson and Samuel Ozburn, along with Bob Rutland, Hunter Hall, and Ruel Parker, who meet every Friday morning to pray for our community and nation. The group gathers annual to garner collective inspiration for the new year in their service on behalf of others.

The keynote speaker of this year’s breakfast will be retired CEO of Primerica and current head of Addison Leadership Group, John Addison.

A Covington native, 1975 graduate of Newton County High School and 1977 graduate of Emory at Oxford, Addison spearheaded Primerica during a period of rapid growth in the early 2000’s, including the separation from the parent company, Citibank.

Addison just announced his new role as leadership editor of Success Magazine, and is sharing his business know-how and leadership insights in his upcoming book Real Leadership, due out March 8.

Addison currently resides in Clermont with his wife, Loveanne, and is the father of two sons and an avid gardener.
