Tuesday, June 1
Toddle Tales - 10:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. in the story room. This free, interactive program designed for parents and their 18-month-old to 3-year-old children is a great way to start a reading program. Reading aloud to children develops and fosters their natural curiosity and creativity and their ability to use their own imagination. It expands children's horizons, quells fears, exposes them to new situations and teaches them appropriate behavior. Reading children's stories aloud to our kids is also just plain fun!

Friday, June 4
Baby Talk -- 10:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. in the story room. This program is designed for parents and their 6- to 18-month-old infants and features songs, finger-plays and stories, each Friday.

Saturday, June 12
Family Reading Club - 11 a.m. in the story room. This is an opportunity for families to grow together in literacy. The club members will all read the same title, then get together for discussions. Target Corporation, one of the library's community partners, has generously granted funds to purchase multiple copies of desired titles so that all families will have enough copies to read the same book at the same time. The titles will be chosen with input from the founding members of the club, so that they have meaning to families.
