Hazardous weather outlook starts tonight

Thunderstorms are expected in the area throughout the week, possibly bringing damaging winds, hail and chance of tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight, from Cedartown to Blue Ridge and northwest, damaging winds, large hail and isolated strong long-tracked tornadoes could be possible. From Stewart to Forsyth to Wilkes counties and north, isolated damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes are possible.

The National Weather Service wans against gusty winds, and occasional to frequent lightning.

The weather is expected to continue through Thursday.

A flood watch is also in effect Monday through Wednesday night for north central Georgia, including Newton and Rockdale counties.
