A night at 'Chateau Worthington'

An elegant evening inspired by the wine country of the provinces of France came to Covington Nov. 9 as Worthington Manor, home of Ralph Miller and Benjamin Dameron, became "Chateau Worthington.’’

The evening was sponsored by Stephanie and Billy Fortson and Kerry and Dan Chapman, who purchased the wine dinner at the 2013 Newton Medical Center Spring Gala auction. The 20 guests enjoyed a six-course meal and a presentation of wines from the new and old country. Kara Eads, a wine professional, presented a flight of wines with each course.

Upon arrival, guests were treated to hors d’oeuvres, including French Cheese Puffs with Gruyere Cheese and Lobster Tarragon Salad in Phyllo Cups. The sixth course was a Frozen Tangerine Tiramisu.

The auction item was donated, prepared and served by Miller and Dameron of Worthington Manor, along with Gerri and Jim Weadick, Newton Medical Center CEO, Martha Taylor, Lei and Dan Comerford, and Kara Eads.

Proceeds from the auction and the gala were donated to Newton Medical Center for services and equipment used to serve patients.
