Everyday folks doing extraordinary things for Newton County were honored on Friday when The Covington News and General Mills saluted the four finalists in the 2010 Hometown Heroes celebration.
The winner was Kelli Hopkins. She and her husband, Mike, make time to stay involved in community events, such as serving as advocates for Chimney Park, while also devoting their time and energy to their four children, three of whom have special needs. The finalists were treated to breakfast at the Town House Café in downtown Covington and were given plaques and gift baskets in appreciation for their contributions to the community.
