YMCA Membership Director Kacie Brown expected high participation in the races this year.

"Participation in this event has grown tremendously in these 11 years," said Brown. "It is a exciting day for the YMCA and our community. In 2011, we had a great turn out of runners and walkers and are expecting even more participants in 2012."

"We appreciate the hard work of our 92 volunteers who come out to make this event possible. The excitement and support around the Covington Cheerios Challenge is contagious," said Brown.

The Covington Cheerios Challenge is also sponsored by Advantage Fire, BB&T, The Covington News, General Mills, Police Who Care/Covington Police Department and Sunbelt Builders.
