MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — Police have apprehended a 27-year-old woman after she allegedly stole a truck and led police on a chase while she had two young children in the vehicle.
Nicole Evans was arrested Tuesday night near the Alabama line after a chase and a series of crashes.
Witnesses said Evans tried to steal a taxicab in Marietta, then ran to a nearby convenience store and stole a truck from a customer who had left the vehicle idling.
Witness Cheryl Banks told WSB-TV that the suspect sped off, dragging the truck's owner, who was trying to stop her.
Evans was being held Wednesday at the Carroll County Jail.
