NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stocks are opening slightly lower as more companies report earnings.
Netflix soared 13 percent after reporting a big gain in subscribers. Citigroup rose 1 percent after reporting earnings that easily beat analysts' forecasts as its legal costs fell.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 20 points, or 0.1 percent, to 18,077 as of 9:35 a.m. Thursday.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index lost three points, or 0.2 percent, to 2,102. The Nasdaq composite fell a point to 5,008.
European markets declined as worries mounted over Greece's future in the euro currency union. Germany's DAX lost 1.4 percent.
The price of U.S. crude oil fell $1.04 to $55.35 a barrel in New York.
Bond prices rose slightly. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to 1.88 percent.
