Crews are transforming part of downtown Savannah into the venue for a fashion show.
International retailer Express plans to bring top models to the coastal city for a fashion show this Friday. Workers will construct a 70-foot runway at the south end of Monterey Square for the event.
City service director Jay Self tells the Savannah Morning News the show will be like something held in New York or Milan.
The public is invited, and similar events in Las Vegas, Miami, New York and Chicago have drawn thousands of people.
Express spokeswoman Jennifer Bayley says the show is a way for the retailer to acknowledge its fans and give them a taste of a major fashion show.
