ATLANTA (AP) — A gun control organization is pressuring Kroger to ban the open carrying of guns in its grocery stores.

A group called "Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America" recently protested outside a Kroger in DeKalb County. They are asking Kroger management to forbid the open carrying of firearms in its businesses.

WSB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/Z0S194 ) the protesters cut up their Kroger discount cards outside a DeKalb County store and handed managers a petition signed by more than 270,000 people.

Kroger says it follows state and local laws, which permit shoppers to carry a gun.
