ATLANTA (AP) — State labor officials say Georgia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has dropped to 8.2 percent in April.
That's down from 8.4 percent in March, and 9.1 percent a year ago.
The Georgia Department of Labor announced the new numbers Thursday morning.
State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Georgia's unemployment rate is now the lowest it has been since December 2008.
He said Georgia employers created more than 31,000 jobs in April.
