ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — AT&T says a major upgrade in the works will boost the power of mobile devices on its network in Sanford Stadium in Athens.
AT&T spokesman Paul Chambers says the telecommunications company will be making a multi-million dollar investment in its micro-antenna during the spring. He said the result should be 10 to 12 times greater data capacity for its wireless network in the stadium.
The Athens Banner-Herald reports that the upgrade will is expected to be completed in time for the 2014 football season.
