Downtown Covington has officially been marked as a location to visit for Georgia's Year of Film with a selfie marker on the Square in front of the Historic Newton County Courthouse. Georgia Schatz, Jennifer Shots and Emma and Ella Charleson, from Birmingham, made sure to snap a picture at the selfie spot Tuesday afternoon during their visit to Covington. Schatz, who said she was a huge fan of "The Vampire Diaries," said she has visited Covington several times but decided to bring her friends with her this time. (Jackie Gutknecht | The Covington News)
