COVINGTON, Ga. - The Rotary Club of Covington celebrated its 79th anniversary with a canned food drive with proceeds going to the Covington First United Methodist Food Ministry during the month of February.

“The Rotary Club of Covington’s project, which was part of our district’s Rotary Has Heart campaign, was a complete success,” Jackie Gutknecht, public image chair of the Rotary club, said. “We were able to not only provide food for the food panty but also know that our monetary donation will go far in their hands.”

If the public is interested in knowing more about our club or contributing volunteer time or monetary donations, please contact Gutknecht atpublicimage@rotarycovington.org.

The Rotary Club of Covington was chartered Feb. 14, 1939 and celebrated 79 years of service in the Covington and Newton County community this year. For more information about how to join the Rotary Club of Covington, or giving back, visit www.rotarycovington.org
