Newton County High Class of 1952 Reunion

The first 12th grade class to graduate from Newton County High School (Class of 1952) celebrated its 63rd class reunion at Burnt Pine Plantation on May 23. Forty-three members, out of a class of 111 are now deceased and they were remembered at the reunion with individual white roses placed into a large floral arrangement. There were 18 class members and nine spouses present at the reunion. Class members who attended are: left to right, June Moore Camp, Thomas Jay, George Barnett, Earl Stallworth, Alton Ewing, June Parnell Savage, Bob Capes, Peggy Cofer Sailers, Peggy Piper Madden, Cornelia Dial KitchensJ.E. Jenkins, Ernest Stowell, Zelna Harlin Ewing, Aubrey Harvey, Mary Clyde Davis Staples, Perry Hinton, Peggy Parish Gouge and R.A. Maddox. The group voted unanimously to meet again next year.
